Aboriginal Youth Development Program

Leadership Edmonton has been involved in a collaborative partnership with MacKintosh Consulting in a pilot project aimed at Aboriginal Youth (entitled "Entelechy") which was funded through the Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry (AEII), Aboriginal Development Branch.  It commenced in March 2008, and the pilot project focused on assisting individuals to foster skills for success and to take advantage of their opportunities to move into new situations such as attending and succeeding in trade school and university.  It also helped to develop the skills required to set and achieve educational goals and living career aspirations, including leadership and self-employment.  Leadership Edmonton was responsible for the administration of the AEII funds including ensuring that the conditions of the Grant Agreement are followed both in terms of deliverables and use of funds.  The pilot project has been completed and applications for funding the next phase are being developed.  The project had good participation from its target population and currently continues with its coaching and mentoring phase.
