Guest Speakers: Debbie Doyle, 15-year veteran of the Edmonton Police
Service as a detective with the Child Abuse Investigator. Debbie was
selected and served on a United Nations Peacekeeping Mission to East Timor
along with her husband Dan Doyle.
Dan Doyle, a 23 year member of the Edmonton Police Service currently
serving as a patrol Division supervisor in Downtown Division. Prior to this,
Dan was in the Canadian Navy. Dan was selected, along with his wife Debbie
to serve on a United Nations Peacekeeping Mission to East Timor.

Dr. Kevin Taft, Leader of the Official Opposition (LIB) and MLA for
Edmonton-Riverview. A public policy analyst and head of his own
Edmonton-based consulting company, author of "Shredding the Public
Interest" (1997), a national bestseller which confirmed many Albertans’
concerns about the PC’s. A second bestseller in 2000, co-authored by
Gillian Steward, exploded the myths of private, for-profit health care.
Lyle Best President & CEO of Quickcard Solutions Inc
Lyle R. Best is a well-known Edmonton entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Originally from Southern Ontario, Lyle has been involved in the employee
benefits industry for almost thirty years. Perhaps better known for his
charitable and philanthropic efforts, Lyle has been involved with numerous
charities and causes for many years. Lyle has been Chairman of the Board of
the Royal Alexandra Hospital for the past couple of years and has produced
and Chaired an annual comedy show featuring the likes of Bill Cosby, Martin
Short, Don Rickles, Bob Newhart, The Smothers Brothers, Mary Walsh and Colin
Mochrie. In addition to having been the Chair of the Board of Directors and
now Chairing the Board of Governors, Lyle has produced fundraising dinners
to benefit Junior Achievement that have featured such luminaries as
President George Bush, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, President Gerald
Ford, and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Shimon Peres.
Tracy Fleck, Lawyer at Saddle Lake First Nation. An expert in natural
resources law and aboriginal claims negotiation, Fleck practiced law in B.C
for several years before moving to Toronto to work at the prestigious firm
Borden Ladner Gervais in 2000. Her work at Saddle Lake focuses on creating
band bylaws dealing with such issues as child welfare and drug and alcohol
abuse. One of her goals is to be a role model and to inspire the youth of
Saddle Lake to pursue their dreams.
Dr. Gary McPherson, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Social
Entrepreneurship (U of A) in the School of Business. He is also an adjunct
Professor, as well as a Special Lecturer and Advisor in the Faculty of
Physical Education & Recreation. Prior to Joining the University, Dr.
McPherson served for 10 years as Chairman of the Premier’s Council on the
Status of Persons with Disabilities providing advice to the Alberta
Government.
